 Non-alcoholic Moscow Mule

1) NON-ALCOHOLIC MOSCOW MULE

Mule is a drink you’ll want to have around for every season. It's fancy enough to have at a holiday party, but cool enough to drink on a hot summer evening. Plus the ginger is the perfect solution to calm a pregnant mommy's nauseous tummy.

You should make some ice cubes with the ginger beer so that the drink doesn’t get watered down...no one wants a watered down, bland drink.

Moscow Mules are traditionally served in adorable copper mugs, in which the copper mug boost the aroma and enhance the flavor of the vodka, besides keeping the drinks nice and cold for a long time! But any glass cups will work wonders!

Instructions

  • In the bottom of cup, pour juice from lime, simple syrup and club soda.

  • Fill the cup about half way with ice.

2)  Easy Virgin Moscow Mocktail Mule

Spicy ginger beer, fresh mint, and tangy lime juice, makes a Mule a refreshing  drink! This Moscow Mocktail Mule has the kick of the classic cocktail but without the alcohol. How you may ask? Traditionally, Moscow mules are an alcoholic cocktail made with ginger beer, vodka, lime and soda.

This Moscow Mocktail Mule is made without alcohol. Use plenty of  limes and mint to give it a kick. In fact, it’s called a mule because the spicy ginger is a flavorful kick to the palate.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ginger beer: sweet and spicy, ginger beer is the hero of this drink. Select a brewed ginger beer for depth of taste. Use a diet or low-sugar ginger beer to reduce the sugar content. Don’t be tempted to use ginger ale as a substitute. It just won’t taste the same.
  • Fresh mint: a few leaves of fresh mint works to balance the ginger and lime perfectly.
  • Fresh lime: Fresh taste fantastic with the earthy ginger. Garnish mug with lime wheels. Bottled lime juice won’t taste quite the same.
  • Non-alcoholic vodka (optional): if you have a favorite non-alcoholic vodka feel free to add it to your Moscow Mocktail Mule.
  • Muddler: a muddler releases the juice from the lime. If you don’t have a muddler, the back end of a spoon works too.
  • Did you know that muddling your mint too much can cause it to release a bitter taste? Clapping the mint in your hands before placing it in your drink will ensure the oils and minty goodness begin to release. Then you only need to press on it very gently 2-3 times with your muddler once you place it in the mug.

Building a Mule:

1) Place the lime and sweetener (if using) in your mug or glass.

2) Muddle until the juice is released from the lime. If you don't have a muddler, use the back end of a wooden spoon or similar.

3) Add the alcohol free vodka (if using).

4) Clap the mint together in your hands a few times and add to your mug or glass. Give it a gentle press with the muddler.

5) Add plenty of ginger beer cubes or crushed ice, then add ginger beer. Stir gently.

6) Garnish with mint and additional lime wheels.
