Have you ever wondered how to create a layered drink like a professional Bartender? Well wonder no more! Figuring out how to create a layered drink involves science. What does that mean? In non-bartender terms, the bottom layer has the most amount of sugar in it, while the top layer has the least amount to zero sugar.
Below learn how to make a colorful drink that will wow your guests!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup of Grenadine ( 1 packet of strawberry or cherry flavored Kool-Aid, if you don't have grenadine).
- 1 cup of Sugar
- 1 bottle of Orange juice
- 1 bottle of club soda, or a clear non alcoholic spirit
- food coloring (except red, or yellow)
Instructions:
Red Syrup Recipe
-
Boil 1 Cup of sugar and 1 cup of water for 3 minutes.
-
Turn off heat and stir in the grenadine (or Kool -aid packet.)
-
Cool in the fridge until ready to use.
A Clear Non-Alcohol Spirit
-
Take a food coloring (not red, or yellow) and stir into a clear non-alcoholic spirit ; club soda, vodka, etc.
Drink Building
-
Start with orange juice in a glass and fill it up halfway.
-
Use the backside of a spoon and place it on the side of the glass, and pour your syrup onto it, allowing the syrup to slowly drip down the side. It will sink to the bottom. Keep pouring until desired amount is in the bottom of the glass.
-
Use the spoon again, and place it on the side of the glass, and pour your dyed clear liquid onto it, allowing to slowly drip down the side of the glass. It will float on top, part of it mixing with the orange juice creating a layered effect.
