PBJ OLD-FASHIONED

This classic combo brings back comforting, nostalgia, childhood memories of school lunches, and afternoon snacks! 

 This cocktail recipe is refreshing with subtle hints of nuttiness and grape jelly. For a more childhood nostalgia and grown-up taste that works. Try swopping out the grape jelly with strawberry, red pepper, or peach jalapeno jelly...heck the variety goes on!

While we use Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey in this cocktail this is closer to a liqueur, because it's 35% ABV...true whiskey is 40+% ABV. Skrewball is very sweet, with a peanut finish that's  accompanied by notes of caramel, coffee and vanilla.

It is more like a liqueur than a whiskey. It is also vegan, which makes it a great option! 

What tastes like whiskey but is non-alcoholic?
Kentucky 74 is a non-alcoholic spirit that comprises the familiar notes of oak, vanilla, caramel, and smoke–reminiscent of an excellent bourbon. Kentucky 74 is completely "spiritless" and the perfect fit for a non-alcoholic bourbon cocktail. 

Ingredients

    Peanut Butter Old Fashioned

    • 2 ounces Peanut Butter Whiskey
    • dash salt (to balance the sweetness)
    • .50 ounce Grape Jelly Simple Syrup

    Grape Jelly Simple Syrup

    • 1/4 cup Concord Grape Jelly (any flavor jelly)
    • 1/4 cup water

     

Instructions

Peanut Butter Old Fashioned

  1. This is a build in glass cocktail, so place an ice ball in a rocks glass.
  2. Pour in Peanut Butter whiskey, and then Grape Jelly Simple Syrup.
  3. Add in dash of salt and stir until all is combined.
  4. Garnish with tiny PB&J sandwich if desired.

  • Grape Jelly Simple Syrup

  • Combine water and grape jelly into small saucepan. Bring almost to a boil, turn off heat. Let cool.
    • Garnish with a super miniature PBJ slider on a skewer!
